Frankfurt, Jun 26 (IANS): Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left for Toronto for the G-20 Summit Saturday and Sunday where he is also set to hold talks with a host of world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, and sign a bilateral nuclear cooperation pact with Canada.
The prime minister's special aircraft Air India One had made an overnight technical halt here. He and his delegation will have a packed schedule in Toronto over the next two days.
Manmohan Singh is scheduled to meet his newly-named counterparts -- David Cameron of Britain and Naoto Kano of Japan -- before his interactions with Obama.
The prime minister is set to arrive at the Pearson International Airport in Toronto at 10.30 a.m. Saturday (8 p.m. India time) and will meet Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Later, after the G-20 working dinner, he is also scheduled to meet the other leaders of the BRIC countries -- Brazil, Russia and China. Sunday too will be a packed day for Manmohan Singh.
Apart from participating at the opening plenary of the G-20 Summit, Manmohan Singh has meetings scheduled with the Japanese prime minister and the US president, finally ending with a formal meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Even on Monday, prior to his departure for India, the prime minister will have an early morning meeting with members of the Canadian parliament and the Ontario legislative assembly, several of whom are of Indian origin.
Manmohan Singh returns to New Delhi late Tuesday, again after an overnight technical halt at Frankfurt.
