BJP Flays Nitish Kumar Over Gujarat Aid Money

Lucknow, Jun 20 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday condemned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for returning Rs.5 crore aid money to Gujarat, saying it shows "narrow-mindedness and petty politics".

"It is unfortunate. Nitish Kumar should accept his mistake," senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra told reporters here.

He said by returning the aid money that Gujarat had given to Bihar for flood relief, Nitish Kumar had not only hurt the sentiments of the people in Bihar but also all Indians.

"If Nitish Kumar wanted to appease the minority community, he should have come forward and spoken over the Bhopal gas tragedy as 70 percent of the victims there were from the minority community," Mishra said.

The Nitish Kumar decision was a reaction to advertisements in Bihar papers lauding the Narendra Modi government's contribution to the flood victims. The advertisements were carried to mark the BJP National Executive meet in Patna.

I have had great respect for Nitish. With his action of returning the aid money by Gujrat which has exposed his narrow mindedness also proved that he is great oppertunist.BJP should severe its ties immediately and teach him a lesson.I appriciate the statement by Lalu that he has insulted not Modi but people of Gujrat. Now I wonder how Nitish will sit on the chair provided to him by the help of BJP.Shame on oppertunist politicians like Nitish.
