Why Name Saeed, Lakhvi in 26/11 Verdict, asks Jamaat-ud-Dawa

Lahore, May 4 (IANS) India has "unjustifiably" named Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders Hafiz Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in the Mumbai terror attack case, a Jamaat-ud-Dawa spokesperson said after an Indian court held Pakistani national Ajmal Amir Kasab guilty of the 26/11 mayhem.

A special court in Mumbai Monday pronounced Kasab, who was the lone terrorist arrested for the November 2008 attack that left 166 people dead, guilty while acquitting the two Indian co-accused -- Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed. It also found the involvement of 20 other Pakistanis, including Lakhvi, Saeed and Abu Hamza.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JD) spokesperson Yahya Mujahid said here Monday: "Right after the Mumbai attacks, Saeed categorically denied any involvement of his organisation in a press conference held the next day."

He said the attorney general of Pakistan, advocate general of Punjab and other government law officials had put forth all evidence before the Lahore High Court (LHC) on the matter.

"After careful review and diligent hearings, a full bench of the LHC decided that all the accusations against Saeed were baseless," Daily Times quoted him as saying.

The 60-hour audacious attack that began on the night of Nov 26, 2008 and went on till the afternoon of Nov 29, 2009 was carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists, including Kasab.

They targeted sites like the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station, the iconic Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, the nearby Hotel Oberoi-Trident, the Cama Hospital and the Chabad House, a Jewish prayer centre, and Leopold Café, a hangout popular with Indians and foreigners.

The Jamaat-ud-Dawa is a front of the the Pakistan-based LeT.

I certainly agree with both Lydia Lobo and Venu Bhandary. Spoken the absolute truth and nothing but truth. JuD is the new name given to their earlier militant organisation after US banned this group for terror activities. Truth shall always prevail what may come.

Its the bad luck of Jamaat-Ud-Dawaa that India captured one of their ten robots alive who gave leads to his origin. If he too had died with others, India could have no proof of the perpetrators.

JUD must shut their mouth and accept any verdict that will be given by India than acting smart. Whole world knows what Pak's business is. JD better shoot their defense towards the US, now that Headly and Rana are enjoying the music in the US.
