Ajay Devgn Gets Grungy Makeover for 'Golmaal 3'

New Delhi, Apr 14 (IANS): Versatile actor Ajay Devgn has got an grungy makeover for his upcoming comedy "Golmaal 3".

Conceptualised by director Rohit Shetty, the actor's new avatar brings out his edgy side for his character Gopal thanks to a rugged style, diamond ear studs, tattoos and cropped hair. The styling for the same has been done by Navin Shetty.

"I wanted all the characters to have different looks in 'Golmaal 3'. For Ajay, I wanted a character that looked different from everything he has done. He has been working hard on his body a lot, so we will have him flaunting his body (in the movie)," Shetty said in a statement.

"He plays a hyper character who loses his temper very quickly because of which everyone is scared of him. People never know what he will laugh at or get angry about," he added.

Shetty has also styled the other cast members of the movie like Kareena Kapoor's tomboy look, Tusshar Kapoor's "tapori" look and Arshad Warsi's look which is yet to be disclosed.

The tattoos for Ajay's new look have been designed by Hakim Aalim's studio.

"Vishwas from my salon designed the tattoo on Ajay's neck but the concept and choice was Ajay's. The tattoo is of a Celtic or tribal trishul (trident). It is daring to have a tattoo on the neck, even if it's temporary. No actor in India has done it on the neck," said Aalim.

"We have given Ajay the buzz cut, a stubble and overall, a more macho, masculine and grungy look than he normally sports," he added.

Also starring Kunal Khemu, "Golmaal 3" follows "Golmaal" (2006) and "Golmaal Returns" (2008).

Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd, the comic caper is currently being shot in Goa.
