Mangaluru, Sep 8: The feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated with active involvement and participation of the Bejai parishioners.
Monthi Saibinichi Sabha took initiative to organize the nine-day novena and festal arrangements. Keeping in mind the social distance, the faithful were accommodated in the parish hall and the church.
The ICYM members joined hands in sanitizing the people along with thermal screening.
'Crusades', a lay association of Bejai parishioners decorated the altar and the grotto. They also distributed 100 food kits to the poor irrespective of caste and creed.
St Vincent de Paul Society too reached out to the deserving families.
Fr Pramod Crasta, assistant parish priest conducted Novena prayers. Fr Robert D'Souza, the principal blessed the new fruits and Fr J B Saldanha, the parish priest presided over the Eucharistic celebration.
