Singer Marva Wright Dies at 62


London, Mar 24 (IANS):Marva Wright, known as the Blues queen of New Orleans, died after suffering complications following a stroke. She was 62.

"At 6 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning, Marva suffered another stroke and passed away. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Information about services will be made available soon," contactmusic.com quoted a statement on Wright's website as saying.

She is survived by four children, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Wright was hospitalised last June after suffering a serious stroke following a gig at the CoCo Club on Bourbon Street.
