Bajrang Dal Threatens Moral Policing on V-Day

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13 (IANS) The Bajrang Dal in Orissa has threatened to swoop on couples cosying up in public places on Valentine's Day Sunday.

"If anybody is found displaying indecent act in public places then our activists will hand them over to their parents," said Subhash Chouhan, the national co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal.

"We are not protesting against love, but the indecent act. We have identified some places where these things are happening in the name of love, we will hand them over to their parents," he added.

Meanwhile, police said all those practising moral policing will be taken to task.

"If anybody is found taking law into their hands then police will certainly intervene and take action according to the law," B.K. Sharma, the commissioner of police said.

"We will deploy plain cloth policemen to ensure no such untoward thing happens," he added.

All the moral police get warning from the police and government, but they are simply soothing and warning words without any teeth in them.
