Mangalore, Jan 7: Louis Cruises has launched India’s First International Cruise from an Indian Port, Cochin in Kerala.
One of Europe’s leading cruise operator Louis Cruises, will now charter from Indian shores MV Aquamarine, a 525 cabin, luxury cruise liner to be home ported at Cochin from December 23, 2009 to April 25, 2010. Itinerary of cruise liner from the Louis Cruise Lines (LCL), the fifth largest cruise operator in the world and a leader in Europe to include Maldives, Lakshadweep and Sri Lanka with overnight stays. A day’s cost is Rs 5,850 for adults with travel for children below 15 years being free.
All facilities such as games including cricket for the first time using bowling machines, shows, entertainment, sports, spa, restaurants, casino, pubs and duty free shopping etc is on board, said Louis Cruise India head Vijay Putran. Louis Cruises India, a subsidiary of the 12-ship Louis Cruises fleet, announced its itineraries, preferred sales agents, voyage information.
About MV Aquamarine
525 luxurious cabins, 1,250 passengers maximum capacity, 460 well-trained crew on board (mainly international crew), three restaurants, swimming pool, three bars and video arcade among others.
The Itineraries planned are also truly unique, and MV Aquamarine will be the first Cruise Liner to be home ported in India with international ports of call. Highlights of the Itineraries are three nights to Maldives (with overnight stay), three nights to Colombo and a daylong Lakshadweep and one night high seas and back.
The interesting part of this itinerary is that Indians obtain a visa on arrival at both Sri Lanka and Maldives, so these cruises will not require applications for visas etc. Both the destinations Sri Lanka and Maldives, as well as the Home Port Base – Coachin in Kerala are world class destinations with a host of tourist activities ranging from beach activities to night life, shopping, casinos and great cuisines among others.
