N D Tiwari Quits as Andhra Governor after 'Sex Scandal'

New Delhi, Dec 26 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari Saturday resigned, citing health grounds, after allegations of his involvement in a sex scandal.

"Yes, he sent in his resignation to President Pratibha Patil," Christy Fernandez, the President's secretary, told IANS.

Tiwari's resignation comes a day after the Telugu television channel ABN showed pictures of an elderly man purported to be Tiwari, 86, with three young women in bed in the Raj Bhavan.

Tiwari's continuance as governor had become untenable after the scandal and pressure mounted on the octogenarian leader to quit on moral grounds.

Earlier in the day, the central government had asked for a report from the state government on the alleged incident.

    Hi Sharon Lobo, Disgusting to read your comments. What do you mean by governor post? Governor should take care of administration of the particular state as per Indian Constitution. people like you who supports act like this are anti nationals . At the age of 86 he should read sacred books & not ...with girls. Do not support anybody for such activities. Andhra Pradsh is in deep trouble due to TELANGANA issue . Our n d tiwari is not bother & supporters like sharon will definately put India into stone age era. JAI HO.

    N D Tiwari has misused the Rajbhavan for his lust and made it as Prembhavan. If this old man, whose remaining days are numbered, could do it now, one can imagine what he must have done in his heydays. I just wonder how Sharon Lobo from Qatar can support him for his misdeeds. What does she mean by "everyone does it in life and that it was not forceful"? If everyone does it, he or she does it in their bedroom and not in office with prostitutes. I hope she knows the difference between an office and a home. The people of the most liberal country in the earth, the United States, have not forgiven their ex- President Bill Clinton for his illegitimate relationship with an intern and I don't think Indians would forgive this great grand old man for his shameless act.

    What I want to know is his secret for "keeping it up" at the age of 85? Maybe he is superman.. By this, we can safely deduce that he is a hard worker to go at it with 3 women. We need more workaholic politicians like him who have all the stamina to work long and "hard" for the people!

    N D Tiwari resigned on health ground.He didn't admit sex scandal although hundreds of people saw him on TV. Yes..lot of pressure for Congress High command from Womens group,Non Congress Parties.Now everyone willforget him. If common man is caught, he will be tortured in police station and imprisoned. Mr Tiwari..you are very very very LUCKY MAN because you are spending remaining life not in jail but in a posh bunglaw with black cat commondos security.

    Human beings are tested, especially popular people in the field of politics, sports and entertainment with the snare of sex, money and fame. If they failed in the first test, their career is finished. It is so sad that a very colorful political personality at this age was trapped by the dirty devil. We can't put all the blame on the devil, we need to take some responsibility for our reckless behaviour due to overconfidence.
