Panaji: Sesa Goa Received First Prize For Its Overall Performance In The Mine Safety

Panaji, Dec 10: Codli Mine of Sesa Goa Limited received the first prize for Overall Performance in the mine safety; under mechanized mines Group ‘A’ 


 
More than 25 prizes were received to Codli, Gaval Sonshi, Maretasodo, Bicholim, Sanquelim and Botvadeacho Dongor mines of Sesa Goa under different mining aspects. These prizes were distributed during the Final Day Function held on 3rd December 2009 in Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda Goa.
 
Director of Mines Safety & Productivity Council (Goa, Sindhudurg & Kolhapur) organises the Mines Safety Week every year. All the Goan mines participated in the safety week celebrations. Inspection of all the mines was done by various teams to judge the safety aspects in the mines. The mines were divided according to their production capacity.
 
The accolades received reiterates that Sesa Goa always ensures the highest safety standards which are followed in its operational units and excels on all fronts of health, safety and environment. Sesa Goa gives paramount importance to its employee safety, with a focus to reduce its lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) year after year.
