Delhi Police registers first case for violation of Epidemic Act


New Delhi, Mar 24 (IANS): In a first, the Delhi Police on Monday booked five people including an Air India official for violating the Epidemic Act in the national capital.

The five persons identified as Himanshu (Air India employee), Anil Rathee, Geeta Rathee, Mohit Rathee and Manpreet Rathee were found violating their home quarantines.

The said persons have been booked under section 188, 269, 271, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.

All the accused persons are residents of Harmoney Apartments in Dwarka's Sector 4 area.
