Dubai, Oct 25: Acme Building Materials Dubai celebrated annual Diwali celebrations in a grand manner at Traders Vic Hotel, Deira on 22nd October, 2009. Though it was 4th Diwali get together ACME celebrated their 10th year of existence in Dubai and was proud to have this celebration though the whole of UAE is going through the phase of recession.
The programme started with the lighting the lamp by the guests who flew all the way from India. Ashok Purohit one of the famous Vasthu specialist & Astrologer along with the famous Cine Actor/Producer from Kannada Film Industry K.P. Nanjundi opened up the programme with lighting the lamp and blessings. Also present was S.K. Poojary a noted businessman from Muscat who is also an close associate of Acme flew all the way from Muscat to witness the programme. Present on the dais were the Managing Directors of Acme Building Materials Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar along with Dinesh Sherigar.
Harish Sherigar welcomed the guests and opened up the programme while B.G. Mohandas, ex-President of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, an eminent Pharmacist, Journalist, Social Worker and a long associate of Acme Building Materials spoke few golden words on the occasion which gave a good start to the event.
Harish being a singer by himself opened up with a beautiful number of yester year ‘Ye Shaam Mastani’ song which enthralled the invitees who were craving to hear this one. To add fuel to the event the contribution of the great musician Nadeem from Oman is commendable. Nadeem, being an Omani is a ardent fan of Indian music and has gained a lot of credit in promoting Bollywood music from his childhood days. He has dedicated his life to this industry and has contributed a lot spreading the essence of the bollywood songs. He is a singer, composer, musician not only in Arabic but also in Hindi, Sinhalese, Punjabi, Baluchi and English and is ready to release his first album in India. His association with the well noted singers like Bali Brahmabhatt, Sukhbir, Shakeel and Umar Sharif is commendable. Nadeem gave some beautiful numbers and the invitees enjoyed every bit of it.
Bhargavi another noted singer of UAE also gave some beautiful numbers along with Harish. She is one of the top finalist of Saregama Middle East TV programme and also participated and gained fame of Indian Idol TV show. She had rendered her voice to many regional movies with her golden voice and has made a name for her in her home town.
Sharon an upcoming singer of church choir rendered her silky voice and gave some beautiful numbers. She is also a participant of Indian Idol and won big accolade. On the whole there were number of songs rendered by various artistes in their beautiful voices.
The best part of the show, not to forget, was the various performances by the group of Russian belly dancers who enthralled the crowd by their sensational body movements for some of the tilting hindi numbers and Arabic numbers which received undoubted appreciation.
Other than that the music and dance were some games and not to forget one should appreciate that the total show was ably conducted by the famous MC who took the crowd by storm with his unique style of compeering and mingling with the invitees to make them feel comfortable. This was an event worth to be remembered.
Of course the show ended with high spirits and a sumptuous buffet dinner followed by vote of thanks.
Acme Building Materials and Harish Sherigar promised to carry on with such events every year with the support of their well wishers in their business.
