New Delhi: B S Yeddyurappa is India Today’s `Fastest Mover’

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 14: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was conferred India Today news magazine’s  `FASTEST MOVER AWARD’ in the Law and Order category by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and India Today magazine’s Edotor-in-Chief Prabhu Chawla participated in the function held in New Delhi.

Speaking with media persons after receiving the award, Yeddyurappa said: ``It gives me immense satisfaction. The presentation of the award as the fastest mover in the field of law and order in Karnataka, has given a boost to our morale even though the opposition parties are busy in tarnishing the government’s image.’’

"India Today Group has recognized our Government’s efforts in improving law and order in Karnataka by giving the award namely ``Fastest Mover.’’ The Award coming from a nationally reputed publishing house is a true honour and an inspiration to do better in the days to come,’’ he said adding: The Church Attack incident at Hebbagodi in Bangalore, is unfortunate. Vested interests are behind this attack.’’

"Our political opponents are also indulging in mis-information campaign against the Government. They are disturbed by the fact that BJP Government is gaining popularity among minorities. However, we have ordered a COD enquiry into the incident. Eight teams are probing the incident. The culprits will be brought to book shortly,’’ he added.

Congratulations Yedurappa !!!What an all round performance. Driving from Mangalore to Belgaum by road is like driving on US expressway. Law and order is excellent. Hindus, Muslims and Christians live in Harmony. Karnataka is blessed to have a chief minister like you. I am sure you will do even better as prime minister of Pakistan or Afganistan

Pre-dominantly ridiculous comments. Anyway, kudos to the CM for being conferred the "Fastest Mover" of public funds to his account. Any Guess how many seconds it took him to move the funds??? India Today may need to reaffirm its clauses with regards to nomination of awards towards Law and order in the future.

Congrats to Mr. Yediyurappa. Even though some segment of our society cant digest whatever good BJP leaders does to the society. As mentioned by Mr. Nagesh Naik even Mr. Modi, CM of Gujarat has done so much to the Gujarat state that today the state is in no. 1 position in india. But vested interests are spoiling the name of Mr. Modi. So same is happening with Mr. Yediyurappa. But no worries, both the seats of undivided manglore is with BJP.

I dont agree with Nagesh. Australians are attacking Indians for their colour and not for their religion. Its a racial discrimination. Why do you need to bring religion in between this issue. Never should we forget that various Christian institutions are doing charitable work in this country. If we keep fighting in the name of religion , India will never prosper neither we. It won’t be a surprise if Osama Bin Laden gets an award for peace, who knows, “India Today” must have listed Osama’s name for their next award of peace. The award given to Yeddy for Law or Order is not a great wonder to praise upon but it should make one to think about other 24 CMs in India, whether they are concerned with law and order. If others are on the right, then ‘India Today’ gambles for its making.

If others are not concerned with the law and order like Yeddy then the citizens must wake up from their slumber. If Yeddy has done his duty just like others, then he does not deserve it. There were more than 1000 riots, more than 1000 atrocities on minority, attacks on Christians, Muslims and other minorities, such as Dalits etc on record in Karnataka after Yeddy being a CM. Will ‘India Today’ take an interest to probe into it? Maya’s comment seems to be silly, for even a barking dog safeguards its master’s house when a thief thieves.

A corrupt person getting an award does not increase or safeguard his morale. Achieving good results through evil means cannot be justified even if he is a god. For me this award seems not for law or order rather for making hundreds of young and old women widows, hundreds of children parentless, for putting the bread-winner behind bars and thus taking away the daily bread of thousands of families.

Congratulations to our CM, an award that too by one of the most reputed publishing house, is truly an honor, we are basically having some eye problem, or else the BJP govt. has done much better in a short time then the Congress, congress only talks about developement, BJP does it? Minority problem is there, that should be solved to gain confidence among the minorites or elese BJP will take theis state forward, or else both the congress and the JDU both will ruin the state, that is for sure? let wish our CM the very best, and as far as the Home Minister goes, I think first we can''t get over it after a long time a senior post has come to the undivided district, I hailing from the Udupi area have known the Home Minister from a very long time, he''s one of the most decent politician of our state, he will do good to the undived district give him some time and have patience, untill then relax, BJP is here to stay like gujarth, all were crying for Modi''s blood, the more u cried the more stronger he''s become, today he is India''s most powerfull CM, all are remote controll, but Mr. Modi is self controlled. so as may says be like a elphant and let the dogs bark let Karnataka be on top, Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka

(continuation of earlier comment)There are plenty to appease Muslims, Hindus and Christians. But there is none for the rescue of humans here. There are plentty to speak on behalf of minorities and majority, but there is no one to even think about humanity. Perhaps it is high time that God stops creating Humans and only creates Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs etc etc. Then only perhaps peace, law and order will prevail here.

I went through the report more than once, but could not know whether Yeddyurappa was awarded ''Fastest Mover'' award in Law and Order category for mainting law and order or derailing it. A bit confusing. Anyhow Congrats Yeddyurappa. You have managed to reach the national level. A few days ago Oscar Fernandes was given Nelson Mandela award for his contribution towards minorities.

I deemed it as a reminder to Oscar to work for minorities at least now. I have similar thoughts for Yeddy. India Today has perhaps warned Yeddy that ''your contribution in maintaining law and order is not enough and this award is a warning for you to begin at least now''. I think more than we readers Yeddy must be knowing well whether he deserved this award or not.

But looking from our Home Minister''s point of view Yeddy thoroughly deserved this award since ''only minor'' things have happened in Karnataka eversince BJP came to power. Be it caning and shooting down farmers in Haveri, death of MLA Raghupathi Bhat''s wife (only Dr V S Acharya, Raghupati Bhat and Sunil Kumar know whether it was suicide or ...), attacks on churches, pub attack, MLA Sampangi being caught by Lokayukta sleuths etc are just ''minor things'' (Home Minister may be right saying they were minor since only minorities were at the receiving end in some cases). Dozens of double, triple murder of innocent, aged people, young couple right under CM''s nose in Bangalore too are minor. So Yeddy government so far had only minor hiccups in law and order department. Only major law and order problems for the government are conversion and cattle trafficking. The govt has continuously been saying that opposition is perpetuating these things. But I don''t understand why don''t they slap cases against the opposition if they have enough evidences? Bangalore church attack surely is by Congress (courtesy A''nut''kumar). They why delay in arresting the culprits and sending them behind the bars? Mangalore pub attacks were due to media''s irresponsibility (courtesy Dr VS Acharya). They why still the goverment is sitting quiet? Does BJP fear the opposition or they are hand in gloves with the opposition? Media perhaps needs to be careful here. Don''t ask ab out law and order system with those who are supposed to enforce it. But ask about it from those who are covered by it. Ask those who have spent days and nights behind bars for no fault of theirs or those families whose sons/husbands have been wrongly convicted just because they happen to be from a particular caste or community. I don''t say all this is happening only after BJP''s assumption into power. These things have been happeningfor years together. For us commoners, only the governments change, not the policies neither the agendas. While ''Seculars'' spent their time in appeasing the minorities, communals spend their tenure appeasing the majority. There are plenty to appease Muslims, Hindus and Christians. But there is none for the rescue of
