New Delhi, Dec 24: The 2nd edition of Miss Climate - 2019, a pageant for the planet intends to use Beauty Pageant as an effective tool to create awareness of Climate Change Worldwide. This event was held on December 21 at Constitutional Club of India at New Delhi.
Shwetha Rao, 23-year-old Mangalurean was crowned as Miss Climate -2019. She is the daughter of Savithri Rao and Manoj Rao from Ashoknagar, Mangaluru. She is working as an assistant manager in a multinational company in Gurgaon. She is an Information Science engineer from NMAMIT, Nitte and a Young India Fellow from Ashoka University, Haryana. Kinkshook Gairola of Dehradun was crowned as first runner-up and Ojasvy Chandhok from Delhi is crowned as second runner-up.
Winners received Rs 1 lac cash prize, 1st runner-up received Rs 50,000 and second runner-up received Rs 25,000 cash prize form SEWA- THDC Ltd.
Other finalists are crowned with various titles. Prachi Seth from Delhi is crowned as Miss Climate Star – 2019, Pune based girl Lavanya Pati as Miss Climate Queen – 2019, Muskan Verma from up as Miss Climate Care – 2019, Bhavna Yadav from Haryana as Miss Climate Diet – 2019, Delhi based Bhavana Attri as Miss Climate Ethics - 2019 , Gaziabad born girl Pooja Jain as Miss Climate Justice - 2019 ,Hyderabad girl Namratha Gollamandala as Miss Climate Values – 2019, Atmaja Das from Kolkata as Miss Climate Power - 2019 , Gurgaon born girl Ankita Pandey as Miss Climate Sensitive – 2019 ,
Kanpur based girl Jyoti Singh as Miss Climate Sound - 2019 , Telangana girl Srija Chittimalla as Miss Climate Water - 2019 , Ahmedabad based girl Sakshee Singh Miss Climate Air – 2019, and Balata Punjab girl Samreet Kaur as Miss Climate Resilience -2019.
This pageant is the first-of-its-kind on the planet that continues the legacy of Beauty with Responsibility. Miss Climate 2019 will serve as Global Ambassador of Climate Change.
Contestants were judged by eminent experts from different domain i.e. Gayatra Raghwa- United Nations, Environment Consultant, Shala Nigar - Senior Anchor of DD News, Dr.Varun Katyal - Celebrity Wellness Expert and Arjun Kapoor - Celebrity Fashion Designer.
Green Mentors, the organizer of the pageant selected 16 most climate conscious women with a beautiful personality from a pool of more than 1,000 contestants belonging to different parts of India, who are known for their remarkable contribution towards environment in their surroundings.
