Pak TikTok star harassed in Dubai

Islamabad, Dec 19 (IANS): A Pakistani TikTok star, who drew widespread public backlash for filming inside the Foreign Office here, has revealed she was verbally abused and sexually harassed by "hundreds of Pakistani men" at a store opening in Dubai where she was invited as a guest.

"Hundreds of Pakistani men hurled abuses, pushed and some even kicked me," Dawn news reported on Thursday citing Hareem Shah as saying in a tweet.

"Is this how you treat your women?"

A series of videos, appearing to be from the same event, posted by other TikTok users confirmed her claims, showing Shah and her friend Sandal Khattak visibly fearful, distressed and begging for some personal space to move forward and away from the mobbing crowd of male fans.

Earlier this month, Shah shared a similar video in which she could be seen at a different public event and dozens of men touching her inappropriately.

Shah made headlines in October after an inquiry had been launched against her for filming videos inside a conference room at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
