Rotherham, Dec 18 (IANS): South Yorkshire Police in the UK arrested a driver so sloshed that he did not even know that he was driving a car on a tyre-less rim, a media report said.

The police posted a tweet on its official Twitter handle @SYP_Specials on December 14 that said: "Specials from #Rotherham found this Peugeot tonight and arrested its driver for an expired license, no insurance, leaving an RTC, not showing up to court (x2) and last but by no means least, for driving whilst so incredibly drunk he failed to realise he was missing a tyre."

The picture showed a white car with damaged side fender as well as the side view mirror dangling by a duct tape. The car's right side rim was without a tyre.

The Deputy Police Chief later tweeted: "Well done team."

It was reported that the driver faced a lengthy driving ban.

Police found that he had failed to show up at an earlier court hearing and was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash.
