Congress appoints acting President for Tripura

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS): Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday appointed Pijush Kanti Biswas as the acting President of Tripura Congress.

Biswas has been appointed till a full-time President takes charge, an official release issued by Congress MP K.C. Venugopal said.

The state President's post was vacant since the resignation of Pradyut Deb Barman, who had stepped down in September due to differences with the party high command.
