Bringing India’s dance diaspora to Delhi stage

New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANSlife): An upcoming dance festival here will bring to stage a unique blend of Indian classical dances featuring seven eminent artistes from five countries, who give these dance forms a global touch.

The two-day event titled "Nritya Rang: An International Celebration of Dance" will take place on December 20 and 21 at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House here.

Organised by the Ras Raj Foundation and Pracheen Kala Kendra, Nritya Rang will kick off with the dance recital of France-based danseuse Sharmila Sharma, followed by performances of Deodatt Persaud and Durga Arya, both from Germany.

The second day will feature dance presentations of Dumitha Gunawardana, based in Sri Lanka, young sensation Kumari Aamrapali Bhandari from Singapore, and Singapore-based Afsar Khan. USA-based Shambhavi Dandekar will conclude the festival, organisers said.

The event is an attempt to bring great performers on one stage and unite a global audience through Indian classical dance.
