Jamia clash: DPCC joins protest, slams police action

New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS): A day after the protest in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia on Sunday when clashes broke out between the Delhi Police and the varsity students, members of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) on Monday joined the stir here, slamming the police atrocities against the students.

Delhi Pradesh Congress chief Subhash Chopra and party leader Alka Lamba were among those who joined the protest.

The protesters were seen heading towards the old Delhi Police Headquarters at ITO. Delhi Police has barricaded Deendayal Upadhyay Marg before ITO to prevent any untoward incident.
