Unnao rape: Sengar convicted, Shashi acquitted


New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS): On a day, when the most brutal rape happened on the streets of the national capital, another daughter from Uttar Pradesh got justice as former state legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted on Monday by a Delhi Court.

While the expelled BJP lawmaker was convicted in the 2017 rape case of the Unnao minor, his accomplice Shashi Singh was given the benefit of doubt by Special Judge Dharmesh Sharma and acquitted.
