New Delhi, Dec 14 (Agencies): BJP spokespersom GVL Narasimha Rao took a jibe at former Congress president, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday December 14, after Rahul Gandhi's statement at Congress's Bharat Bachao rally in New Delhi.

GVL Narasimha Rao said, "Rahul Jinnah instead of Rahul Gandhi is a more appropriate name for him."

"The more appropriate name for you Rahul Gandhi is Rahul Jinnah. Your Muslim appeasement politics and mindset makes you a worthy legatee of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, not Savarkar. #RahulJinnah," GVL Narasimha Rao wrote on Twitter.

Rahul Gandhi in the rally had said, "I was told in Parliament by BJP yesterday, 'Rahul ji, you gave a speech. Apologise for that.' I was told to apologise for something which is right. My name is not Rahul Savarkar. My name is Rahul Gandhi. I will never apologise for truth."

After Rahul Gandhi's statement, GVL Narasimha Rao took to Twitter to attack Rahul Gandhi.

GVL Narasimha Rao said that Congress's Bharat Bachao rally was "more like a Congress Bachao rally" adding that it was a "family outing" for the Congress.

GVL Narasimha Rao said that the Congress oragnised this rally to "showcase their sufferings".

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said he "will die but never apologise" for speaking the "truth" as he is a Gandhi and not a Savarkar, and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his "assistant" Amit Shah instead to apologise for "destroying" the economy of the country.

Accusing Prime Minister Modi of single-handedly "destroying" the country's economy, he said, "All of India's enemies wanted that its economy, which is its strength, should be destroyed."

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that people manning various institutions, including media and constitutional ones like judiciary, have forgotten their work.
