Rs 1 lac reward to anyone who kills rape accused: Ayodhya priest

Ayodhya, Dec 13: A priest of Ayodhya’s Hanuman Gari Temple, Raju Das, has announced to reward Rs 1 lac to anyone who kills a rape accused. He also said that if a policeman kills a rape accused, his family will receive the necessary help.

When asked why Das was making such announcements, he responded saying the motive behind the appeal is to spread awareness among people that those guilty of such crimes should not be spared.

“Often incidents of crime against women are taking place and those committing them are people among us. It is all about the mindset. Similar crimes are also being committed on children…” Das said.

“Jab tak is par samaj sajag nahi hoga, tab tak ispe ban nahi lagega (Till our society does not become sensitive, such crimes will not stop),” he added.

Ayodhya Circle Officer Amar Singh said, “We are unaware of any such statement. If it has been made on a public forum or site, we will verify it and take cognisance.”

    The priest seems to be having great impetus and excited by the recent Ayodhya Verdict which was delivered on the basis of emotions of the particular community.

    He now thinks that punishments and decree from the Courts should be based on emotions; and no need of any evidence to prove the accused as guilty. Only emotions are sufficient to prove someone guilty.

    s.c., should file sue-moto case against dis ayodhya swami. becoz killing & inciting or giving supari 4 killing is offense same as rape.

    An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind. You can't rectify the error by giving money to kill the accused. As a priest its your duty to take youth into confidence and teach them good human values. Turn them away from violence. Not turn one against the other.

    Probably someone in dire need of money might rape somebody and get his own kin kill him. This is like some old farmers taking loans knowingly and committing suicide with agreement of the family. What if he is gone ? His loan will be waived and the land will be free for another man to commit suicide after taking further few lakhs of loan.
