LS Speaker rebukes BJP MP for making remarks while seated

New Delhi, Dec 6 (IANS): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday ticked off a BJP MP for making remarks while seated, trying to direct the Chair about the functioning of the House.

Birla's action came during Zero Hour when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP tried to suggest to the Speaker to call somebody else in the Opposition for speaking.

The MP could not be identified amid the din in the Lower House as the members from both Treasury and Opposition benches were involved in a heated exchange of words following a debate on the brutal attack on a rape survivor in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district.

"Don't make remarks by sitting, otherwise I will name you and ask you to withdraw," Birla said.
