Punjab signs pact for setting up research university


Mohali, Dec 6 (IANS): The Punjab government and research-based Shoolini University on Friday agreed on establishing a research university in the state.

Documents pertaining to the expression of interest were exchanged during the Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit here between Secretary (employment generation) Rahul Tiwari and Shoolini University Pro Vice Chancellor Atul Khosla.

Punjab had invited the Himachal Pradesh-based Shoolini University to set up a campus keeping in view the research-based focus of the university.

It would make an investment of Rs 750 crore in 10 years and would provide direct and indirect employment to about 1500 people, as per the understanding.
