Lashkar Militant Killed in Jammu and Kashmir

IANS

Jammu, Sep 4: Security forces killed a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district Friday morning, army officials said.

The gunfight in Reasi's Jammalan forest area, 150 km from here, started after security forces got a tip-off about a group of LeT militants hiding in the area. The area was cordoned off and contact with the militants was established Friday morning leading to the exchange of fire, an official said.

The militant who has been killed has been identified as Abu Jindal, a Pakistani. The killing, he said, was a big success for security forces.

The operation was continuing, he added.
