Sweeper administers injection in Odisha hospital, disengaged


Bhubaneswar, Dec 5 (IANS): The authority of Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital in Odisha on Thursday disengaged a contractual sweeper for administering injection to a patient, the video of which has gone viral.

The on-duty staff nurse was also sent on leave and a show-cause notice has been issued in this regard.

Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Niranjan Mishra informed that the concerned contractual sweeper has been disengaged from service.

In the video, the sanitation worker is seen administering injection to a woman patient admitted for treatment at the hospital.

Mishra said the video might have taken a month back.
