Congress, BJP's Tiwari trolled over Navy Day pics

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS): Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari was trolled on Wednesday for congratulating the Indian Navy on the occasion of Navy Day and using the picture of a ship that's carrying a US national flag. However, the Congress went a step further by using only a US Navy's freedom-class littoral combat ship to wish the Indian Navy.

While people were quick to correct Tiwari about the mistake, some of the Twitterati were unforgiving.

For instance, a Twitter user posted a meme from a popular Bollywood movie 'Gangs of Wasseypur' that read "Tumhari Ek Galti se kitna tamasha hoga... Iska andaza nahi hai tumhe..!" (You have no idea, how this mistake will pave the way for so much drama).

Another Twitter user by the name of Jaipal Singh wrote, "Navy is Indian but flag is of America?" Another person Jude David asked: "When did India change her flag?"

But soon, Tiwari hit back claiming he stands by his earlier tweet, which he claims is a joint naval exercise between the Indian and the US Navy. He says, "It has been taken from Indian Rakshak website. There's no need to be embarrassed."

Soon, AAP-turned-BJP leader Kapil Mishra jumped to Tiwari's support. He tweeted: "Some are making the point that these are US Navy ships. These are photos of the joint practice of Indo-US Navy taken from Indian Navy's official website. India's INS Rana is ahead of American Ship. Those who want to see India behind are making fun."

The Congress not only tweeted from its official handle a sole photo of a US Navy ship, but its leaders like G. Parameshwara, Neeraj Kundan too faltered in using US Navy ship photos on the occasion of Navy Day.

However, an embarrassed Congress soon deleted the earlier tweet to post a new one with the correct photo.

Even after posting a fresh tweet, the Congress was trolled with a screenshot of its earlier tweet that now stands deleted.
