Arun Singh files RS nomination

Lucknow, Dec 2 (IANS): BJP General Secretary Arun Singh on Monday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh and several ministers were present at the time of filing of the nomination papers.

Elections, if needed, will be held on December 12.

The seat fell vacant following the resignation of SP MP Tanzeen Fatima who has now been elected to the state assembly.

Monday was the last date for filing of nominations and Arun Singh is the only candidate in the fray. He is likely to be declared elected unopposed.
