Congress holds high-level meeting on Rajasthan

New Delhi, Nov 29 (IANS): Senior leaders of the Congress, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, have met at the Jodhpur House here on Friday.

Among the close aides of Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, A.K. Antony, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Rajasthan Avinash Pande and General Secretary K.C. Venugopal are attending the meeting.

Both Gehlot and Pilot were asked to come to Delhi in the afternoon for the discussions.

However, party sources maintained that the meeting was regarding the preparation for the proposed rally on December 14. But some other sources said that the presence of Gehlot and Piolt meant that the issue was serious as both the leaders were not on the same page.

It is likely that the issue of state Congress President, which is Sachin Pilot, could be discussed at the meeting. Gehlot has sought a replacement besides proposing two Deputy Chief Ministers in the state.
