"Thackeray is seen as untouchable by Gandhis" : BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao

New Delhi, Nov 29: BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao, on Friday, claimed that Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will have to give up on the ideologies his party had build on and surrender to the Congress party for survival.

"Uddhav Thackeray has to completely give up his ideology and surrender to Congress party president Sonia Gandhi. He will have to do so to survive as a slave of the dynasty because that is the only means of survival for his government," Rao said.

Rao asserted that the new alliance formed in Maharashtra was more of an opportunistic alliance than a secular alliance. He also stated that Congress detest standing beside the Shiv Sena leader.

"Thackeray is seen as untouchable by the Gandhis who do not want to share the stage with him," Rao added.

On Thursday, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Maha Vikas Aghadi (Sena-NCP-Congress) took oath as the 18th CM of Maharashtra. He has become the first Thackeray family member to become the CM and third Shiv Sena leader to hold the top post after Manohar Joshi and Narayan Rane.

    Political opportunities make so called leaders change colors depending on what fortunes they are offered by which party; making them strange bedfellows. No wonder those who are true to their convictions do not want to associate with these opportunists.
