Maha drama exposed BJP's regard for Constitution: Chidambaram


New Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS): Launching a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Maharashtra political drama, former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram here on Wednesday said, it showed the the honour they accorded to the Constitution.

In a brief interaction with the media at the Rouse Avenue Court, Chidambram said, "That's the honour they show to the Constitution? It's sad that the Prime Minister, the President and the Governor were involved in the midnight (drama)."

Chidambaram was produced before Special CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar at the end of his judicial custody in the INX Media case, being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The court extended the judicial custody till December 11.

Chidambaram is being probed for his alleged involvement in irregularities in granting the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval to INX Media during his term as the Finance Minister.
