INS Nireekshak visits Sri Lankan port


Colombo, Nov 26 (IANS): Indian Naval Ship Nireekshak was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with the naval tradition as it arrived at the port of Trincomalee on a training visit on Monday.

Upon her arrival, Commanding Officer of the vessel Commander B.K. Prashant called on Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe, Commander of the Eastern Naval Area.

Both sides held cordial discussions and mementoes were exchanged on the occasion.

The INS Nireekshak is scheduled to leave the island on December 3.
