Government selling India totally: Cong

New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS): The Congress on Thursday slammed the government over the disinvestment of profitable public sector undertaking and accused it of selling the country.

Slamming the government, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal told IANS: "This government is going to sell India totally."

Hitting out at the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, the Congress leader said that they say that we are not selling the profitable PSUs. "But they are only selling the profitable companies. This means what government says and does is completely different," he said.

Lamenting at the government, Venugopal said: "On one hand they are saying nationalism -- Make in India and on the other hand they are selling the entire profitable PSUs."

He said Congress will raise these issues in Parliament.

The Congress leaders remarks came a day after the government announced a blockbuster disinvestment plan, lining up the sale of five PSUs, including majority stakes of oil company Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL), Shipping Corporation of India and a 31 per cent stake in Container Corporation of India (Concor) along with management control.

Modi as PM started with selling Indian culture and traditions to the world. It was well appreciated and taken in good spirit. Popularizing Yoga, was one of the initiative. This is was all show in the public, when at the same time, DeMo, Rafael deal, Election bonds, faulty implementation of GST etc. was happening at the background. The very strengths of India, was getting compromised at the background.\

Today, industries after industries are collapsing and people are affected.

The only alternative Modi Govt., has now selling companies, land to china or to US quietly. Well, that is the mark of nationalism and patriotism, in today's popular context.

Government doesn't have enough resources to run the country due to bad economic policies!!! GST collection is drastically reduced due to closing down of businesses!!! Bank NPA's caused havoc in banking system and cash crunch!!! They are looking for money and the option is selling of profitable co's to their close business associates or political contributors until 2024!!!

All the blame should go to the voters (including EVM's) for voting BJP to power.
If Foreign companies involve in taking over domestic companies on the strength of their Financing capacity and skilled managerial powers & administrative capacities, they will part with 50% of the profit/yield to their country draining our foreign reserves. Some Economists need to elucidate the government in this respect.
