Foreign envoys briefed on Ayodhya verdict


New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS): Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale on Saturday briefed envoys of some countries on the Ayodhya verdict, in keeping with the normal practice of briefing foreign envoys on important developments in the country.

A five-judge Supreme Court bench ordered that the disputed Ayodhya land must be given to Hindus for a temple, while Muslims would be given a five acre alternate land for a mosque.
