We should respect SC verdict on Ayodhya, says Rajasthan CM

Jaipur, Nov 9 (IANS): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said that the long-awaited verdict of the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya land dispute has finally come and all should respect the verdict.

"We should all respect the long-awaited verdict on Ayodhya land which was announced today. Congress respects the decision of court," he said while speaking to the media here.

However, the Chief Minister added that had the BJP sought the apex court's opinion over 25 years back, there would not have been any bloodshed.

He also appealed to maintain peace and harmony and said, "I had video conferencing with police team and have directed that anti-social elements should be dealt with, with an iron hand."

Gehlot made a scathing attack on the Central government and the BJP, and said that the Central government should concentrate on strengthening the economy.
