Few Azadi March participants leave venue due to weather

Islamabad, Nov 9 (IANS): With the change in weather conditions, some of the participants of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam's (JUI-F) 'Azadi March' against the incumbent Pakistan government, have left the camp here and returned home, a media report said on Saturday.

Though people who have come from other parts of the country were still camping at the site, the locals who had joined the Azadi March on October 31 were returning to their homes due to heavy rain and cold weather, the Dawn news report said.

Some people had joined the protest march from Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock and adjoining areas but after the heavy rain some of them went back.

Compared to last week, the number of participants at the site has reduced. Mostly people who came from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh and inner Punjab were still in the camp.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is leading the massive 'Azadi March', which entered the ninth day on Friday.

The protesters are demanding Khan's resignation, accusing him of rigging the 2018 general elections.
