Odisha IPS Association condemns attack on Delhi cops


Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 (IANS): The IPS Association, Odisha on Tuesday condemned the violent attack on Delhi Police personnel by advocates in various courts in the national capital.

"This is totally unacceptable in any democracy. The Association stands in complete solidarity with our colleagues of Delhi Police. We demand the Union Government at the highest level to take up the matter with the appropriate authority," said the association in a statement.

"We also express our gratitude to people at large, who have used all avenues available to them, to voice their concern over the attack on personnel of Delhi Police and have demanded that justice be done," it said.

Violent clashes between cops and lawyers occurred at Delhi's Tis Hazari court complex on Saturday. Thousands of police personnel on Tuesday gathered outside Delhi Police headquarters protesting against the attack.
