Indore, Nov 5: BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya who assaulted a civic officer with a cricket bat stirred another controversy on Monday when he claimed that BJP workers "do not roam about empty-handed."
The MLA was addressing at a protest over farmer issues and discrepancy in electricity bills when he made the statement. His message was perceived as a threat to the electricity department.
"We do not roam around empty-handed so they (officials) should understand what will happen to them," BJP MLA Akash said.
He also demanded that the issue regarding the discrepancy in the bills be solved at the earliest.
"People are receiving inflated bills. Some people told me they were charged Rs 6,000 - Rs 40,000 for electricity usage. We warn and demand that the government either write off the bills or lower the rates," Akash added.
Further, he demanded compensation from the Congress government for the farmers who faced heavily due to the unpredictable monsoons this year.
Back in June 2019, BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya came to the limelight for assaulting a government officer with a cricket bat. Although he was arrested, the court granted him bail soon after.
