#RemoveBlueTickOfDilipMandal trends on Twitter


New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS): After senior columnist Dilip C. Mandal got his Twitter account verified and received blue tick on Monday, netizens took to the micro-blogging site asking to remove the blue tick.

Mandal's Twitter account was recently activated after briefly being deactivated by Twitter India.

"@Twitter @TwitterIndia @verified You have done a grave mistake by letting Dilip Mandal get a verification blue tick who dwells on nothing but hate. #RemoveBlueTickOfDilipMandal," wrote a user.

"Kindly remove the blue tick of this bais @dilipmandal His every single tweets are on promoting casteism and we don't want such people on Twitter Remove his account as he violates twitter policy. @verified @Real_Anuj #RemoveBlueTickOfDilipMandal," wrote another user.

Since Monday morning, thousands of Twitter users have posted comments with the hashtag #RemoveBlueTickOfDilipMandal.

Meanwhile, Mandal also asked Twitter to remove the blue tick. "Remove my blue tick. Who asked for it? Give everyone equal status," Mandal quipped soon after receiving the verification sign.
