Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut to meet governor to discuss government formation

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai (SR)

Mumbai, Nov 4: The office of Maharashtra Governor on Sunday said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and other senior party leaders will meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at 5 pm on Monday to request him to invite BJP to form the government in Maharashtra.

As per sources, the meeting will have a significant role in the present scenario as it comes at a time when the BJP is firm on their stand that Devendra Fadnavis will become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, while Shiv Sena is seeking an equal term for chief minister's post.

At the same time, NCP Ajit Pawar had recently said that Raut dropped a text message to him that he does not know why he messaged.  "This is the first time after elections that he has contacted me. I do not know why he messaged me. His message reads "Jai Maharashtra Saheb, I am Sanjay Raut". I will call him in a while to know about it," said Ajit Pawar, as quoted by PTI.

Though the BJP has emerged as the single largest party by winning 105 seats and the Shiv Sena has got 56 seats in the 288-member assembly, the bitter tug-of-war still continues over the equal distribution of Cabinet portfolios and the term of chief minister's post for 2.5 years in Maharashtra.
