Lucknow, Oct 30 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the 'Run for Unity' on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Run for Unity will be organised in all districts of the state.

The event will be celebrated with much fanfare following the abrogation of Article 370, which was a dream of Sardar Patel, who wanted the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.

In a statement issued here, Director, Information Shishir Singh said that the run will start from the statue of Patel located near GPO Hazratganj and culminate at K.D. Singh Babu Stadium in the state capital.

The Yogi government has also issued directives to all the district magistrates and police chiefs to celebrate the day as National integration day.

A letter sent by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avanish Awasthi said that a message of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his photograph will be put up at all police stations, police offices and police lines in the state so that people can take inspiration from the message.
