New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah here on Thursday thanked the people of Maharashtra for showing confidence in the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. The two parties have collectively won 93 seats and are leading in 66 seats.
In a tweet in Hindi, he congratulated Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for their efforts.
"Thanks to the people of Maharashtra for expressing their confidence in the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the state government will continue to be dedicated to the progress of the state and service to the people," Shah said.
The BJP is emerging as the single largest party in the 288-member Assembly. Final results are yet to be announced.
