New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS): The prominent faces in Maharashtra who are trailing include BJP's Pankaja Munde and NCP turncoat Udayanraje Bhosale, who is contesting the Satara Lok Sabha bypolls.

Pankaja is trailing her cousin Dhananjay Munde in the Parli seat in Beed district in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had campaigned in the Parli seat.

Dhananjay Munde is contesting the seat on a NCP ticket and is leading comfortably with more than 88,000 votes compared to 61,000 odd votes for Pankaja Munde, daughter of former late BJP stalwart Gopinath Munde.

Former NCP MP Udayanraje Bhonsle who joined the BJP is trailing by 88,000 votes in the Satara lok Sabha bypoll, necessitated by his resignation. NCP candidate and Sharad Pawar's close aide Shriniwas Patil is leading in the constituency.

NCP heavyweight and Sharad Pawar's nephew, Ajit Pawar, who was named in the money laundering scam and threatened to leave his MLA seat, is leading with a huge margin from the Pawar family pocket borough of Baramati in the sugar belt of Western Maharashtra. Pawar is leading by more than 1 lakh votes.

Former Maharashtra CM, Prithviraj Chavan of the Congress is leading by around 5,000 votes in Karad south constituency.

Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Phadnavis is leading by more than 10,000 votes in the Nagpur South West seat.

Former Maharashtra CM, Ashok Chavan of the Congress has a huge lead in Bhokar of more than 63,000 votes.

Thackeray family scion, Aaditya is leading by more than 46,000 votes in the Worli seat from Mumbai city.

Political heavyweight, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patel who joined the BJP from the Congress is leading in the Shirdi seat by a huge margin of more than 74,000 votes.

BJP heavyweight Chandrakant Patil is leading by more than 11,000 votes in the Kothrud seat.

There is a neck and neck fight in Sakoli where Nana Patole who switched side to the Congress from BJP is leading by a slim margin over Parinay Fuke of the BJP.
