BJP MLA claims EVMs only vote for BJP, Rahul shares video

New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS): Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday shared on Twitter a viral video in which Bakhshish Singh Virk, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Assandh constituency in Haryana, is seen claiming that no matter which button is pressed on the electronic voting machine (EVM), the vote would go to the saffron party.

Sharing the video, Rahul Gandhi called Virk "the most honest man in the BJP".

In the 39-second video, Virk is seen saying in Punjabi: "Wherever you vote, we will get to know which person has voted for whom. Don't think we won't know. We deliberately don't tell you, but if we want we can find out who you voted for."

The video, which has been making rounds of the social media for the past several days, has been termed "fake" by Virk, who says it is a conspiracy by his rivals to defame him and his party.

The Election Commission had on Sunday issued a showcause notice to Virk for purportedly making controversial remarks about EVMs.

The Truth has to come out one day. Both the 2014 and 2019 elections were won by the BJP by tampering with the EVM's. The exit polls by the media on both these occasions were meant to justify these fake victories of the BJP.

Democracy has not only been hijacked by the BJP, Democracy that has been build through hard labour of our founding fathers has been Murdered in Broad day light by the BJP.

This EVM Sarkar at the centre and in our state are illegitimate and so also in all the BJP ruled states. The Chief Election Commissioner is a caged parrot of the BJP and can never ensure a free and fair elections.

No use complaining to the EC, even if the PM himself says that the EVM has been tampered, the EC will still not believe, but if the opposition does it they will take immediate action.
