Dalit Youth Beaten to Death over Love Affair

Lucknow, Jun 11: A love affair proved fatal for a 20-year-old Dalit man in Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.

According to police, Bhim Sen was beaten to death allegedly by the family members of the girl with whom he was in love for the last several months.

Four of the accused have been arrested for the alleged murder and police said five more are absconding.

Bhim Sen was beaten with wooden sticks in the Chainpura village in Siddharthnagar district, about 300 km from here.

"After the youth was caught meeting the girl, her family members dragged him to a nearby pole where he was tied and beaten repeatedly with sticks," district police chief Akhilesh Kumar told IANS.

According to police, the girl was also beaten in the same way. While the youth died on the spot, the girl was being treated in the district hospital and her condition was stated to be critical.

    Sad news. Dalits and Bramins , higher casts are all childre of each other. Every higher cast has a dalit family to work for them During the day time. Morning higher priest goes to temple for pooja and dirty politcs, dalit boy entertains the masters wife and daughters. late in the evening madam goes to temple for harikatha, dalit womens job is to entertain the high priest.

    All R children of each other.this has been going on for generations. once father dies son and daughters takes over the tradition of inbreading. still when it comes to friendship they kill their own daughters and sons in the name of higher cast. for their lust dont mind their own daughters, sons , sisters and brothers. what do U say Ganesh mamoo.? Racism ? what racism ?

    So sad and un-believable that the dalit youth beaten to death over a love affair by a lover girl family members. Now, can some one explain what is the HINDUTVA and why this tragedy happened. The both the lovers having same religion and why the hindutva not protected the lovers????

    Dear media person, dont paint this incident as "dalit beaten to death" instead lover beaten to death" would have been more appropriate. They didnt beat him because he is a dalit, but they beat him because he loved the girl. Unfortunately, he came from dalit family so his caste was high lighted. So in my opinion, here caste is not an issue, but the real issue is love.
