LG to Launch 31 Energy-efficient TV Models in India

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Global electronics manufacturer LG is planning to launch 31 new models in the star-rated colour television (CTV) category by 2009-end, a top official said Tuesday.

"Even though the industry is witnessing 4 percent category growth, we are looking forward to achieve 7 percent growth by 2009-end," said Amitabh Tiwari, business group marketing head of LG India.

"With this, we aim to increase our market share from the current 27 percent to 30 percent by end of this year, expecting a total sales of 4 million sets in the domestic market," he said.

The new range of star-rated CTVs will be energy-efficient and will comply with the guidelines issued by BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency), the company said.
