Bangalore: Wipro Buys Mobile TV Unit of Nokia

TNN

Bangalore, Apr 22: Nokia has sold its enterprise mobile TV unit to Wipro Technologies. Wipro also confirmed that it has purchased Nokia Mobile TV Broadcast
Solution, offering enterprise mobile TV solutions. However, the tech major has declined to put a value to the deal.

The unit has around 40 employees, who have been developing software and hardware to help mobile TV technology on the mobile phones in order to locate and access the data from a broadcasting network.

‘‘We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side,'' said a Nokia spokesperson.
