The show was flat as a chinaware dinner plate with not a morsel on it. Looked like a dress rehearsal for a 'B' grade dance show. Indian culture and dance has now come to mean dancing only to Bollywood tunes. Can't they think of something new? Couldn't the organisers have thought of asking Sonal Mansingh or Malyali actress/dancer Shobana Chandramohan (Lalita, Ragini, Padmini fame) for ideas? Madhavan ended up making sarcastic remarks "How profound" frequently. His clothes were ill-fitting. Malalika looked oily. Asin had a dress that was too short. Sushmita has to stop wearing tight fitting clothes. I was scared there would be a wardrobe malfunction. And the final crowning ceremony and the mix-up. Did we have to watch till almost 1.45 a.m. for this rubbish?!!! Contestants looked terrible. But at least they weren't surgically enhanced. And of course the battalion of advisors and specialists to help the contestants. What an industry Miss India has become!!! Verdict: Miss India 2009 was horrible. As many readers have said it was one of of the worst ever this year.

The problem with this years competition was that the girls were not at all graceful. And if this are the so called Beauties what a shame. Most have blemishes that are not even covered with their makeup.

Only Beauty is not considerd . There are couple of other things like poise, body language, elegance and self confidence  to consider .

It was a good show indeed and Ms.Pooja Chopra really deserved the Ms. India world title. judges were more than half a dozen from different walks of life. It was not one man/woman jury. I don't understand why you guys/gals make fool of yourselves by writing all negative about the show. Grow up......and broaden your mind!!

I must say that the contestants are absoultey not worth of the crown, be it their brains or beauty, not a cent worth of the crown. I really don't understand how can the judges choose these? People of India get real and practical while making a judgement.

Can anybody explain me in simple english, how does it matter for a common stupid man (copying from a wednesday movie)like me? I have to slog from morning till evening. I have so many problems racial discrimination, terrorism, unemployment, inflation..etc. commonly all of us have these. As such, agar koyee Miss universe bane, Aishwarya ko abhi tak bacha nahi hove ya Saif ali khan bebo ko chodhke uski maa se shaadi kare, hum logon ka life mein kya pharak padnewala hai bhai?

When Gujrat earthquake happend, for raising relief fund there was a so much struggle. But, there is a cricket match PEPPSI will be the sponsor of billion dollor in India. So, common man is not ensured social welfare instead he is at danger every moment. A small prayer. O God ! please give us serenity to accept the things i can not change, courage to change the things i can and wisdom to know the difference. God Bless All !

The most crappy selection of beauties ever..  I think the miss universe is one scrawny woman.. is this what they say beauty is skin deep.. must be all skin and no flesh.. there must be so many beautiful women in India much better than these 3 who do not take part in these competitions.. India is surely not going to win anything this time at the international level..

I agree with many of the readers here that judges were inexperienced but not incompetent. The selection of 3 beauties (?) to represent our country is very awful. So what can be expected of them from world title?

I agree with a few of the comments here the show was boring and the two comedians or clowns who were trying to make people laugh in between the rounds made a fool of themselves....looks like they were trying hard to imitate Saif & Shahrukh duo. To be frank the so called winners were very average looking girls and it appears that this pageant over the years is unable to attract beautiful girls for this competition.

Nothing against the winners, but I feel the deserving Miss India was Ekta who was among the two losers. What a shame. The winners dont at all look beauties of any caliber. Sorry to say so. The show was most awful of any pageants i have seen. It was a total tragedy.

The judges were truly inexperienced but the selection was partly good and partly bad as these ladies had beauty but there was lack of brain to be a beauty queen. Anyways now as they are already selected they should go through rigorous practice to win the top beauty pageants and make India proud.
