Udupi : Western Institute of Technology opens City Office, Provides Opporunity for International Exposure

Udupi, Feb 18: In the competitive global world, there is demand for knowledgeable people in different fields. Western Institute of Technology (WIT) has come into existence to transform students into persons capable of handling different jobs for which there is great demand. Top companies look to India for getting best employees because of the high quality educational system prevalent in the country, said T Gautam Pai, executive director of Manipal Press Ltd.
Speaking at the inaugural of the city branch of Western Institute of Technology at Raj Towers here on Tuesday February 17, Pai noted that due to the liberalized education policies of the government of India, private educational institutions, in association with international universities, have been providing top class education in the country. He wished, that the students of the twin-districts would be able to bag international jobs with the help of WIT and such other institutions.
Udupi episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes inaugurated the branch. He hailed the institute for being equipped with educational facilities that have earned international recognition for the institute.
Chief guest K Abhaychandra, MLA, identified security, health, environment, hotel management, human resources etc., as the potential sectors which will require skilled manpower in near future. He appreciated WIT, instituted by philanthropist Walter Stephen Mendes, for equipping students with necessary skills and knowledge and at the same time, responding to the social and academic needs of people.
Executive director of WIT Walter Stephen Mendes in his introductory address, said that in spite of temporary reversal faced in fields like software, sectors like health, security, environmental science, animation, retail management, hotel management, human resources management etc., have lot of employment potential. WIT has been recognized by famous, long-standing international universities from USA, he explained.

It may be recalled, that WIT has entered into understanding at the global level, with various educational institutions for providing high level counseling to individuals in need, irrespective of their background.
