Udupi: Thousands View Partial Solar Eclipse

The District Amateur Astronomers’ Association made arrangements for viewing the partial solar eclipse at Poornaprajna College on the afternoon of Monday January 26.



Amateur astronomer Venkataramana Upadhyaya of Saligrama delivered a talk on planetary movements and solar eclipses that was attended by school and college students and astronomy enthusiasts. 
 
Association convener A P Bhat, addressing the gathering said that Upadhyaya has plans to distribute 100 pinhole cameras to schools across the district, of which 30 such cameras had already been delivered to schools. It was done to mark the international year of astronomy, he added.
